ETS and Data Export

Basic means of Data gathering from common ETS brands, scanning and OCR techniques, direct export, data capturing etc...

Good to know before you start

  • Important fancier and race data entered in ETS systems and in MyPigeons should match. Fancier ID and race dates are types of data used for data import in general, please make sure your ETS systems provide correct data before import.
  • For proper communication with various ETS systems, most often you will need COM port or USB to serial converter (RS232 cable). Please make sure you have installed correct drivers for your PC port and cable, it is the most common reason of communication errors.

BENZING Pidexx

BENZING Pidexx is universal software for BENZING Clocks that can and should be used for chip-ring pairing, creating race plans and synchronizing data with BENZING Clocks. It can be used for multiple fanciers and clocks with possibility of complete data backup/ Using Benzig Pidexx one administrator can take carte of multiple clocks in his club so even fanciers with lower PC skills are taken care of.

Pidexx provides multiple options how to export race data including standardized WinSpeed format, however the most easy way is to create complete data backup and use it to import race data to MyPigeons.

PideXX settings preparation

When creating fanciers in PideXX, please make sure their IDs (Fancier number) is the same as Fancier ID on MyPigeons.

Important first step is to create race plan in Pidexx with exact race dates that are matching real races dates. When you are syncing race data from clock to PideXX, you are selecting which race it should be connected to

  1. Make sure fancier number in PideXX is same with Fancier ID on MyPigeons

  2. Use fancier database on MyPigeons to check if fancier IDs match to Pidexx data

  3. Create your race plan in PideXX with exact race dates

Clubs system and clock setup

Connect your club system as usual when you print out race data in your club. Then connect USB cable from your club system to your PC and set connected clock to PC communication mode.

Watch on Video

On following video screencast we create a race in PideXX based on MyPigeons race plan, then we read out race data from connected G2 clock and pair it with created Pidexx race. After downloading data to PideXX we export Pidexx backup file and import it into MyPigeons race.

To save time, you can first read out all clocks in the club, then import data backup file just once. MyPigeons will allow you to import all data with single click.

BENZING Live! data transfer

BENZING Live! is custom BENZING device with ability to transfer race data online in real time, as pigeons are arriving to home loft. Service is nicely integrated with MyPigeons to provide automatic race data transfer for further processing, especially official results calculation.

Service also transmits full list of basketed pigeons which allows MyPigeons to create individual report for each pigeon about how many times he was basketed and how many times he was successful, which is often primary criteria for selection process after season.

Connecting Live! ID with Fancier record on MyPigeons

First step for Live! data transfer to MyPigeons is connecting fancier's Live! account ID with record in MyPigeons fancier database. You will need permissions to access fancier database administration for fanciers you want to set up.

Editing fancier database data is allowed for Club administrators (selected club members), District administrators (district members) or super administrators - Fancier database administrator or Country administrator (all fanciers in database).

  1. Fancier can find his Live! ID on the SIM Card holder that came with his Live! device

  2. Administrator can save Live! ID in fancier database

  3. Fancier can check their data in Fancier database (detailed view for non-admins)

Creating Race Plan on MyPigeons

Correct functionality of Live! data transfer to MyPigeons depends on prepared race plan in MyPigeons database. Simply said, you need to create your race plan on MyPigeons before your races actually start and fanciers connect their Live! devices for clocking pigeons.

When fancier connects his clock on a race day, Live! will transfer basketing data to BENZING Live! server, then data is passed to MyPigeons. Based on fancier Live! ID, system looks up next race for fancier in his district race plan - based on basketing date. If your race plan is correctly saved (valid race dates), race will be paired automatically and all arrivals will be connected to this race.

Connecting clock at loft, transmitting arrivals

Fancier does not need to do anything special outside of his normal routine when waiting for pigeons on race day. He will just connect his clock to his BENZING loft installation (antennas and Live!). If MyPigeons data is OK (Live! ID in fancier database and race plan), everything should be done automatically.

First transmitted data is complete list of basketed pigeons and information about basketing. MyPigeons will create race data record for fancier with number of basketed pigeons and zero clock deviation (clock deviation will be updated after race evaluation). This step is normally done by race data administrators when they start uploading race data after race evaluation. BENZING Live! does it automatically at the moment of connecting the clock at loft after basketing.

When pigeons start arriving, arrivals data is transmitted to Live! server and within a few seconds also to MyPigeons. First 3 arrivals are saved among reported (online reporting tool on MyPigeons) and all arrivals are saved exactly as if they were uploaded by race data administrator after race. Each arrival shows BENZING Live! green icon notifying visitors where it came from.

Race status is changed to "Being evaluated" and in "On the fly results" all transmitted arrivals are available to all visitors. If administrator calculates official results already during race, after each new arrival, all existing results are scheduled for automatic recalculation and will be soon updated.

Home evaluation

BENZING Live! comes with great new feature. Fanciers can evaluate the race directly from home with just few short steps, transmit clock deviation online and get their race data ready for official results. Live! server will create and store online race documentation and MyPigeons will display links to electronic race documents in every calculated results for easy controll.

Fancier only needs to put his Home evaluation card to antenna, confirm race evaluation on clock and that's it. Built in GPS device will provide final clock deviation same as club system would when evaluating in club. Deviation is transmitted to MyPigeons, system recalculates speed for every pigeon and saves links to official online documentation. Arrivals and speeds are final and ready for calculation of official results of any type. There is no need to do anything more with race data after this step.
